This project started off with a very simple and playful way of designing. Stepping away from computers and the digital world, and instead working 100% analog with sketchbooks, pens, cutters and cardboard. The designs themselves were kept as simple, yet attractive, as possible. It felt great! Like taking a step back, moving from high tech to low tech. From STEREO to MONO.

Chef Gibbons is a small and independent company based near Höganäs in the south of Sweden. Over the years we have worked in photography, web design, hot sauce and ginger beer production. We like to do fun stuff and we really enjoy making stuff in plywood, which we have named the MONO collection.

We have carefully tested MONO's Kids Chair for for strength, stability and durability.

It is also tested and approved to meet the European Standard EN 17191:2021 Children’s furniture - Seating for children - Safety requirements and test methods, by RISE Research Institutes of Sweden.

No, our furniture is for indoor use only.

After the analog design process we transfer the design to the digital world, and mill the plywood with an advanced CNC machine. After that all parts are tuned, sanded and treated by hand.

Our products are produced at 2 different locations. First at a carpentry outside Helsingborg and then the final touch and treatment at a small workshop close to Höganäs, Sweden.

For our wood products we use FSC-certified birch plywood of grade B/BB. It's the best quality we can get our hands on, and it meets our requirements for high quality in terms of strength and appearance.

For our textile products we use 100% organic cotton.

Yes we do. Chef Gibbons provides a 2 year warranty on furniture within the MONO collection, against defects in materials and workmanship. Product defects are remedied by repair, replacement of parts or a reimbursement of the purchase price. Choice of remedy is decided at the exclusive discretion of Chef Gibbons. A purchase invoice is mandatory when making a claim under the warranty.

We cannot guarantee that the finish of the item will be exactly as pictured. Imperfections or variations in the grain, color, or sheen of the wood may occur naturally. As a result, these naturally occurring characteristics are not viewed as damages or defects.

Our products can be assembled and disassembled without tools, but please be aware that it might wear and tear on the product. Scratches and wood chipping may occur. Damage resulting from normal wear and tear, misuse, or improper maintenance is not covered under warranty.
